My Response
Reading this article taught me a lot about Katy Perry as a person as well as a singer. I learned that she grew up as a Christian in Santa Barbara, CA. She started working with someone is music at age 17 and she had an album self-titled Katy Hudson. I was shocked about that. I didn't know she had another album of Christian Music... definitely unexpected.
- Katy Perry was born October 25 1984
- former christian artist who ditched it for music that was more fun
- As a kid she wasn't allowed to listen to secular music
- She loved Alanis Morissette and Freddy Mercury
- She later heard Prince at a slumber party; christian music still was the basic music she listened to
- She released a self-titled album "Katy Hudson"
- At 17 she began working with co-writer Glen Ballard
- Several years later she began working with the people from "Matrix"
- 2004 she became "the next big thing" by the BLENDER MAGAZINE
- in 2007 she signed with COLUMBIA records
- she released an album called "Ur so gay"
- her single "I kissed a girl" topped the charts in 20 countries
- 2008 album "one of the boys" is doing well to
